I was 10 minutes late to see Francesca for my 3rd acupuncture session in Gibraltar.  As usual the traffic queue for the border in La Linea, Spain, hardly moved.

v34

The Spanish taxi driver got fed up and dumped me a kilometre from the border.  No sense in hitching a lift, so I walked to the bus in Gibraltar.

v35

Squeamish bit !

After inserting about 20 needles all over my body ( a couple did hurt initially ), Francesca took some photos.

You may open your eyes now 😀

While the needles were in, I drifted into a deep Transcontinental Meditation (there are frontiers involved you know !).

  1. Ralph you are so BRAVE with all those needles, but you are living proof of what transconta–wha?? Well you know. I want to learn that so I can be transported to those awesome places, too!!

    • Brave ? Heehee. It’s not as bad as it looks Mandy. If a needle hurts I tell Francesca and she adjusts the depth until it’s okay and she also explains what sensations I feel. She’s very good.
I could teach you how to transconta-wha, but you may end up being less awesome than what you are my friend.

Oh, go on, say it again Not. I love your comment so much, it makes my hair colour look quite extinguished ! 😀

  3. Ralph, I was on the other side of the planet getting needled at the same time. I think I transcontinentaled to the parade. Someone told me I should start make-up blogging. This all sounds so familiar…

  4. Eek! Oh Ralph… I told you no MDMA! This is not a Rap Concert.
Sigh, well, I’m going to a Rap concert tomorrow.

Enjoy yourself tomorrow my friend. Sigh.

  7. Are you sure that you weren’t injected with anything? This looks like an trip to me!! I’m longing to hear if the needles are working? Please let us know as soon as you get a hint that something good is happening. Fingers crossed for you. Oh and p.s – you deserve a medal, a huge shiny gold medal for doing that trek down in to Gibraltar every week – I’m not sure that I could bear to deal with that traffic. Have you no friends in high places with helicopters? xox

    • Wow ! What a great comment Lottie my friend. I am half way through the 7 weeks and there is a slight improvement. I’m aiming to be fixed, nothing less.
Nope, I have no friends in high places with helicopters, but I do have friends with clapped out vans and cars. Maybe I’ll ask Francesca if she has a needle that will grow me wings 😉
Have a lovely evening. It’s getting hot here again.

  8. Flintstones, meet the Flintstones …

I think I’ll try that high colonic meditation one of these days. That is what you said, wasn’t it? 🙂

Just imagine, if Francesca is successful with the shakin’ Ralphie-o, the world will be a better place again.

Liam is so flippin’ cute. Tell his parents they did a very good job. oxo ❤

    • I’m so glad that your eye sight is 20/20 Yvonne. Yes I did mention high colonic meditation which should get things moving on the road to the border.
If Francesca fixes me she will be on a bonus. Something nice. Any suggestions ?
Okay I’ll tell Liam’s parents, but rephrased somewhat I think.
I hope all is well in Dismal Swamp.

      • For Francesca, a nice little scrimshaw needle case should do the trick. 🙂

DS is busy and eventful just now, the dramas associated with moving, building inspections, lawyers, etc., are keeping me on my toes. That makes a change from my usual sedentary posture. ❤

        Liked by 1 person

      • That’s a great idea Yvonne 😀

Oh no ! The fun of moving ! I hope you are going to somewhere nice, like Happy Swamp ? 😉
        It’ll take a lot to move me …… US$10 should do it 😉 ❤

    • So, that’s what the women were. Water pistols instead of paint ball guns are probably sensible as I was sprayed a few times, not splattered in different colours. Ouch ! You do have a keen eye Drake !
Thanks for the video, amazingly in keeping with this post !

    Liked by 1 person

    • No. It wasn’t painful skd except for one in my left ankle, but Francesca soon adjusted the needle and it was okay. When I got home that evening the Spanish village had its annual parade which was part of the feria. I just blended the two events to make this fun post.

  12. Ralph, you have the best Transcontinental/Transcendental Medication Visions ever! Much better to see the Spanish Flintstones and visit a great summer fete than just staring at the hospital ceiling. Entertainment while you’re being treated. Loved it!. 🙂

Oh, wait, you alrwady do that. Never mind. Second interpretation: your cats want a new toy. Something fresh to chase around the house while you’re transcending pain.

  20. Thank you for liking “Haunted Village” and “Happy Halloween.” I don’t think I have seen acupuncture needles in someone’s head before. Wow, what a sight! I hope they did not hurt too much. I am glad that your post also included photos of your village and Liam. He is cute, and he is growing up quickly. 🙂

No, I am sorry that I can’t interpret your vision, Ralph. I am too busy trying to keep awake. I am still having trouble giving up my night owl hours, and then I have to get up early to go to work or to do other things. Take care. 🙂

    Liked by 1 person

    • You’re welcome dear friend.
During the first couple of sessions one or two needles out of 20+ did hurt, but after that it was okay. I have no treatment or medication at all now as nothing worked. So I’ll see what happens.
Wow, you are a night owl ! I have a blogging friend in England who is the same as you. She has 2 or 3 hours sleep before going to work. I like the early hours as well, but I don’t have to go to work any more thank heavens.
I hope you have a lovely week Arlene. Ralph xox ❤

      • I am glad to know that most of the needles did not hurt you. I hope you are managing okay without any treatment, although I would not want you to suffer through horrible side effects again like you did with those drips. It must be frustrating that nothing has worked for you so far. At least your troubles have not caused you to lose your sense of humor. 🙂

I am glad to know that I am not alone in my night owl ways. I get a little more sleep than your friend in England (usually 4-5 hours), but I am still tired. It has not been easy for me to change my sleeping pattern, but I will keep trying.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week too, Ralph. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • You are welcome. 🙂 Sadly, I have not been able to sleep more. Sometimes my pets or my dad will delay me from getting to bed, or someone will call on the phone early in the morning and wake me up while I am asleep.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend too, Ralph. Take care, my friend. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • Oh dear. Sorry to read why you don’t sleep. Early morning phone calls are a definite no-no in my book. Happy Saturday Arlene ! 😀
