~ Hot Cats ~

My English friends,  David & Hilda,  who live in their finca nearby,   have been rescuing dogs & cats for years.  This summer has been really hot (40C) and some of their cats show it.

Thanks for the photos Hilda.  Big hug 😀 ❤

~ Three Years ~

My blog,  Bluefish Way,  passed the 3 year level last week

Happy Anniversary!

You registered on 3 years ago!

Thanks for flying with us. Keep up the good blogging!

Thank you WordPress.  If it ain’t broke don’t fix it !   You listening WordPress ?

 ~ Toni’s Cooking ~

This is an example of how Toni,  my Spanish neighbour,  cooks for me every night for almost 3 years.

Thank you Toni & Pedro.  Big hug 😀 ❤

~ Train Journey ~

So one day last week I left my home near Cortes de la Frontera for my next session of acupuncture in Gibraltar.  I went by train & taxi in Spain  and caught a bus in Gibraltar.

My cats were crying (with happiness) as I closed the apartment door.

I walked to Cortes de la Fontera station, arriving early.

And then !

Half an hour late my train appeared.

I settled down in my seat to enjoy my stress free travelling experience to San Roque.

~ Acupuncture ~

Amazingly I arrived in Gibraltar spot on time for my second acupuncture appointment.

Francesca again was very professional, kind and caring as I spent almost 2 hours in her hands and I sense a subtle improvement with my balance & hands.

Hopefully next week we will take some photos of Francesca at work on me.  You’ll just love to see me getting the needle, won’t you ?

~ Going Home ~

After 2 hours I started my return journey back home to Spain from Gibraltar.

Arriving at San Roque in Spain by taxi I found somewhere cool to sit ….

…. before entering the station.

The first train to arrive …..

… emptied the platform.

A few minutes later my train, heading north, decided to pick me up.

I settled down in my seat to enjoy my stress free travelling experience to Cortes de la Frontera.

I think Wendy and Yvonne may have a competition going on here 😉

The train raced though the lower hills …..

….. winding its way along the side of a deep gorge …..

…. where the drought has totally emptied the Rio Guadiaro.

Speeding round bends and through tunnels, the train is finally coming to my village.

It passes my apartment in the big wonky shaped house ….

…. and coming to a stop at my local station where I got off into the afternoon heat.

Whew !  What a day !  And what a long post !

Do you ….. ?

I’d like to …..

( I have no idea what I’m talking about.  It’s the heat ! )

  1. Hi Ralph. Long post made even longer because this nudnik had to look up what a finca is and what 40 degrees celsius means in fahrenheit. Yikes! 104! Still, this nudnik read every word, and looked at every photo, envying your sense of humor. Stay cool. As if you’re ever anything but. Cheers —

  5. Wow Ralph. I loved every minute of the train ride, the scenery, the captions and all the excellent photos of the cats. Also, the lady that cooks for you and the lady that sticks needles in you. I’m hopeful that the needles will be just the thing to help your balance and tremors. I used an acupuncturist who was a Chinese MD here in my town. He was very good and it helped a great deal with my energy and also for insomnia. He retired and now I have no idea who is any good at needle sticking. Keep up the good work on your blog. It is very entertaining- made me smile.

  7. Congratulations on your anniversary, Sir Ralph… 🙂

Most of all, so I think you should ask the spanish railways if they will not stop just outside your staircase – I don’t think this would be a problem at all – sure they would be glad to offer you this service… 🙂

I’m enjoying (?) a long w’end visiting my daughter at Uni in Guilford while she finishes her 1st year paramedic placement. Thursday and Friday were lovely but today I had to practice my mindfulness, breathing and all other self-help techniques whilst she shopped on a student budget for a golf outfit for tonight’s “pub golf”. Neither of us are morning people and I was wondering how hard to would be to bring my return journey forward!
The rules of pub golf, should you want to try it, inc you have to visit all holes (13 pubs tonight) and a hole in one is scored by downing your drink in one go. This is what the year one paramedics are doing to celebrate the end of the year.
Me I’m staying in, looking forward to a lie in tomorrow and enjoying the perfect peace (I get the bed tonight while Harrie kips on a friend’s floor) and to catch up with blogging care of Uni wi-fi.
I hope your w’end does not require you to practice mindfulness and self-help techniques XOX TTS

It does take me a while to set these posts up and answering comments. I am getting used to my photo editor so I’m a lot faster than I used to be. It’s the idea for the post which is paramount then the rest drops into place.
Yes, I visited you via Melinda’s blog. Pure chance really. If I read a new post and have time, I click on someone who has commented or their Gravatar that actually has links to their blog. Many, many bloggers lose so much traffic by not linking their blog in Gravatar. Quite annoying.

    • Hello again Janice,
I have had a few hours to mull over your request…..ha ! my internet was down for hours. Seriously, I would enjoy being one of your guest bloggers. Of course I’ll knock something up for you. I have your email address from editing your comment and I’ll send you an attached notepad file in a few days. Is that okay ? Or have you another method you wish to use ?
PS Humour blogger ? You’ve found me out. I think I need a lawyer 😉
