Needles & Cats Eyes

One day last week.

I went to Gibraltar for my first of 7 sessions of acupuncture Samantha !  The same day each week …

… which entails a lot of difficult travelling from my home in the mountains of southern Spain to Gibraltar and back again.

The cats and I live in those mountains (arrowed)

Last week a friend took me to Gibraltar in her car.  The traffic queue to the border was horrendous. The last mile took one hour mainly due to the road across the runway being closed as there were aircraft landing.

I eventually arrived half an hour late.

Next week I will be taking a train, taxi and bus instead of going by car.  That should make a good post !

I spent 2 hours with the very pretty, professional, kind and caring young lady.  Most of the time she was reviewing my medical history followed by a half an hour with twelve needles in me.  I was okay with it.  What I did realise is that I have been missing the feminine energies of hugs and touch for a very, very long time.  Something I will have to rectify  😀

Then I went for lunch with my friend here in Casement Square

If I lived in 1800 I would have had melons instead of a huge veggy burger for lunch.

Meanwhile, back in my home.

Do you like to be touched and hugged ?

This is scary.  If you are a WP European EU blogger you must by EU law notify your readers that WP uses cookies on your blog.  If you don’t, you face a hefty fine.  There is a new WP Dashboard  “EU Cookie Law Banner”  widget which does the work for you.  I have checked “dark” and “scroll”.   Click on the picture for more info.

The cats and the images of me are mine.  I do not take credit for the rest as they are not mine and never will be.

    • Hi Ann 😀 I realised early on when researching acupuncture in this area that communication is probably more important than the needle initially. I chose the lady in Gibraltar because we both speak the same language and there should be no confusion …… hopefully !
My kitties say hi to you Ann.
A worthy hug. Ralph xox ❤

  1. That Gibraltar is mighty pretty! But, by the time you get there, you wouldn’t have tourism on your mind. I sure hope the acupuncture (and contact) does you a whole lot of good.

You have some mighty nice friends who take you to all sorts of places! It’ll be interesting to see how long the next trip will take. The cats may have longer for sleeping time.

Take care, Ralphie-o. (Yes, I miss hugs, also, by the way.) oxo ❤

    • I agree. Tourism is not a priority. What I didn’t say in this post, as it would have gone on forever, was that the car broke down in the multi-storey car park. Her husband and son drove all the way from my village and half fixed it enough for us to get back home.
I think we all need hugs and cuddles. The world would be a better place for having them. Here, have a hugug Yvonne. Ralph xox ❤

  2. Of course, I love hugs, Ralph. Big hugs to you! What a horrendous mile that must have been and then to have a bunch of needles stuck in you. I hope it wasn’t painful. The little town there looks so picturesque. Very nice! Hope you are feeling well. 🙂 Hi to the kitties!

    • Awww ! Thanks for the big hugs from you Amy. Keep them coming 😀
I felt the needles go in, but while they were in I felt nothing.
The kitties say hi back to you my friend.
      Ralph xox ❤

  3. Thanks for showing the photo of Gibraltar. I have friends who live part time here in Ottawa, Canada and part time in Spain and Morocco so they travel back and forth between the two often. Hope the acupuncture works for you! Hugs to you!

    • Wow ! Your friends do get around Bev. In the Gibraltar photo with the runway you can see the Atlas mountains of Morocco in the distance on the horizon.
I really hope the treatment works too.
      Hugs back. Ralph xox ❤

  4. Flash Cats & the Continental Kid sounds like an old american rock’n roll band… 😀

Gibraltar is very fascinating – Wonder about those two lazy cats of yours if they couldn’t do the job – with needles in their jaws and feet.? 😀

  5. I hope this acupuncture will help, I believe it is one of the best remedies for many things. Question about this cookie business Ralph please…. where do you have it on your blog? I wanted to see what it looks like. ? Hugs Ute

    • Hi Ute 😀 I hope the acupuncture works too. Fingers crossed.

      The widget is in Dashboard/Appearances/Widgets

The widget doesn’t show up on your sidebar. A banner shows up at the bottom of the screen. I have mine set for a dark colour and scroll, which means the reader has the choice to accept or when the reader starts to scroll down the page the banner disappears. Hugs. Ralph xox ❤

      • Well done Ute.
That’s weird. It works when I go on my blog. There is something somewhere that if you click accept it doesn’t show up to you again for 30 days. WP !!!

  6. Wishing you the best with acupuncture! I have no idea about the EU cookies law and have no clue how to put cookies on my WP blog – thanks for the info Ralph! Talking about cookies, some cookies in the Netherlands are delicious 😉

    Liked by 1 person

    • Thanks Indah. I hope the treatment works.
You don’t put cookies on your blog. WP and its affiliates have automatically placed cookies on your blog. The problem is that the EU Cookie Law blames the blogger not the corporation for not notifying the reader that your blog has cookies. You get punished by a fine of thousands of euros, not WP ! By using the widget you tell the reader that you have cookies. (My reply to Ute’s comment may help you).
I should Google “EU Cookie Law” if I was you. Quite a stink over it !
Save me some of your tasty Netherlands’ cookies my friend as they sound great ! Ralph xox ❤

      • Thanks so much for the info Rob! I have no clue about the fines..but yup, now I have the widget installed! We have too many cookies nowadays from every websites 😀 – I will save the cookies for you…but you will get them when visiting my blog for sure 😉

      • Yay, it works on your blog Indah. Well done ! I got a cookie 😀

I love acupuncture. Could be a bumper sticker 😀
Thanks for your hope my friend. Big hug. Ralph xox ❤

  7. Good luck with the acupuncture. I hope it helps. Strange that road across the runway. You would think they’d put it in a tunnel underneath. Obviously an overpass wouldn’t work.

    Liked by 1 person

    • Thank you LB 😀
I have no idea why the road is like it is. Maybe they’ll use the runway as a motorway soon 😉 Ralph xox ❤

  8. Oh, S&S, we do so hope the needles will help your s. Granny had needles for a period of time too and she was flabbergasted that some of them really hurt. Well, I came to bring a little light, a purrsonelly Pawkiss and a double healing Pawkiss for your s 🙂 ❤ ❤

  9. Well, Ralph. I hope you manage to get yourself some well deserved feminine-type hugs. That would surely make you feel better. I could send you some, but it’s a bit of hit and miss from this dtstance. Hope the acupuncture works – it’s a long way to travel if it doesn’t help at all.
Great post – loved the fabulous photos and the wonderful dialogue between your cats. Every household should have cats, in case of power cuts. 😀

    • Thanks for the long distance almost hugs Millie. Yes, it is a long way to travel once a week and I do hope the treatment works.
And thanks for your great comment my friend. Ralph xox ❤

  10. So, acupuncture it is! Do you feel anything better?
I had no idea Gibraltar was British! Huh! Well, Casement square looks lovely! Enjoy your lunches there, melons or not! “lol”
Ralph, I love being hugged! Touched …. big depends!
BTW Your cats are on the right track to environmental conservation, they should be commended … right after they rip up a blanket, and fur up your computer.
Take care, and don’t worry about those scary cookies. We can remove them… or snack on them should my figure allow.
    Much love to you!
    xoxo ❤ ❤

Snack away Resa as you’ve got my cookie now.
      Love and hugs back.

    • Yay ! Thanks for your kind words Roxie. I do these picture posts for you, you know, because your work is reading and you need to have a bit of play sometimes 😀 Ralph xox ❤

  11. What a journey! Lol as always Ralph. And I’m thinking all you need is a woman’s touch to get your on your healing journey! Seriously, I hope the acupuncture helps, I know it does me. Lol that cats are hilariousssssssssss! xo ❤

    • I really do hope it works Sylvia. I want my hands back to the way they were ! Spain is weird in not recognising other countries’ qualifications. My acupuncturist lives in Spain but can’t work here. Gibraltar is okay for her to work, so she has to commute quite a distance to work.. I have a friend here who is a Spanish speaking UK qualified caregiver who also can’t work legally in Spain.
Oh, the cats do play while I’m away 😀 Ralph xox ❤

  14. Thank you for liking my five recent posts and for the update about your acupuncture treatments. I hope they work for you too. Your cat comics make me laugh. My cats’ eyes glow like that too, but I usually see the glow at night, which is somewhat scary. My cats also like to nap in the afternoon, and sometimes they cover their eyes with their paws. 🙂

    • Hi Arlene 😀 You are welcome ! I hope the treatments work too. Your cats are also so funny. I have never seen my two cover their eyes with their paws. Maybe yours are practising their glow. Have a lovely weekend my friend. Ralph xox ❤

  15. My friend – forgive me but, as beneficial as it hopefully is to health and well-being, acupuncture does not struck me as substitute for ‘touch and hug’! I am firm believe in healing properties of big, warm, sincere human hug! So sending you some! Along with touch of envy for those marvellous scenery you are surrounded with!

  17. Just trying to catch up with my blog friends but I lost you – i blame the follow / unfollow on the top LHS which is easy to catch on a touch screen. Got you back now – phew. So you’ve made it to Gibraltar which is good. I hope the acupuncture helps but the travelling sounds challenging. This week I’m going to try to keep up with the posts I follow… Good to check in and catch up with you and of course Sonic and Samantha 😀 TTS

The place where you had lunch looks like a nice place.
The hat looks good on you – kinda’ stylish! 🙂
