This Doctor Got Right Up My Nose !

I was ready to publish this post last week but along came Toni’s baby (who is fine) and a party which both took priority over this post.

t23

A few hours before she had her baby Toni took me to Ronda hospital to see Dr Sinus who was going to get right up my nose.

t3

…… His laboratory was in a different part of the hospital to where I usually go. It’s such a maze …..

t5

…..and so confusing. So I made up an accurate map of the hospital.

t15

Of course if I was on my own I would probably end up here……….

t16

t19

……but I didn’t want to go there !

t23

While sitting outside the Laboratory of Dr Sinus a million thoughts screamed through my head.

t24

What did he look like ?

t8

or

t1

t24

Would the nurses be friendly ……

t11

…… or not ! ……

t10

t24

…… and what would he do to me ?

t9

Panic !!

t23

Eventually I was called in and met Dr Sinus for the first time.

t12

As he only spoke Spanish he told Toni that I had polyps in my sinuses which were picked up by the MRI scan I had done a few months earlier.

t4

It seems many people don’t know they have them !

t24

My Spanish is so bad I thought that he said these polyps were alien eggs !

t25

t23

Dr Sinus stopped typing on his computer……

b2

…… then thrust a medical tool up my nose !

t24

Which one of these do you think he used ?

t24

A

t20

t24

B

t14

t24

C

t18

t24

If you selected A or B I have made an appointment for you !

t22

t23

He told me Toni that the polyps were way too deep in my sinuses and there was no need to operate. If they were a lot worse it would be a big operation, basically removing my face to access the problem and clean it out. Yuk !

t6

t24

He prescribed an anti-inflamation spray (similar to this).

t2

t24

Medical Tip

Remove cap before spraying up nose. Duh !

t23

Β I am returning to the hospital on the 30th December to visit my sweet Neurologist who will probably put me on a different course of tablets with more weird side effects !

Β t26

t23

So who or what gets up your nose ?

  2. How was the coffee at the cafe..? πŸ™‚

About chosen tools, why didn’t they just use a corkscrew – I would have prefared that myself – .I think option A is used for constipation and option B is used for heartburn – but admit I don’t know much about it.. πŸ˜€

My nose is soft on the tip so I can also withstand better when I get a ‘slap’ on the nose, which often happens… πŸ˜€

Knew a man who could drink beer with a straw through his nose, weird pleasure… πŸ™‚

  5. Ralph, you know I’ve got to ask…why an appointment with a Neurologist? It’s nasal polyps! A Dr.Sinus problem! Anyway, the spray will help and figure out what you’re allergic to! Have a peaceful Christmas Day!

    • Hi Christine πŸ˜€ Oops ! I forget sometimes that I have many new followers which I should keep up to speed. There has been so much that happened to me over the 220+ posts which would be impossible for you to wade through. I’ll do a resume on my next medical post of what’s going on.
Just quickly for you. Over the last two years I have vibrating hands, spill coffee, can’t cut etc. The latest diagnosis (yes, there has been more) is Lewis Sumner. After dozens of sometimes grim tests they have found nothing wrong with me except polyps, otherwise I am perfect. I have been treated with IVs, tablets, all seem to have weird side effects with no change to my condition. So, off I go again to the Neurologist on the 30th Dec.
Thanks for asking my friend. Got a cure ? Ralph xox ❀

      Like

      • Ralph, I’m so sorry to learn of your neurological problem. As you know it’s a very complex syndrome with relapses & remissions. And of course treatment drugs difficult to take, many side-effects, and some very expensive. I’ll need to read up on some of your older medical posts to get a better picture of the start and progression. As for the polyps…well nasal spray helpful, having them removed helpful, but they can grow back over time. Sure you know all of that. Stay healthy…just know many health problems that happen to us (especially when we get older) can just be managed, not cured. Keep a good attitude, have fun and live your life to the fullest! I can see you’re doing all of that!

  9. Thank you for liking “More Holiday Lights.” Probing tools are another reason why people hate going to the hospital. At least you did not need surgery. Besides polyps, I am guessing there are other more weird growths and organisms living inside of us that we do not want to know about. Good luck with your visit to your neurologist.

I hope you enjoyed Christmas, and I hope you will have a Happy New Year. I am glad to hear that Toni had her baby, and they are fine. πŸ™‚

  12. Oh you poor thing! Glad you don’t need surgery though! Try NeilMed Sinus rinse. It won’t take care of the polyps, but helps relieve nasal allergies, symptoms of flu/cold, sinus pressure, post nasal drip, irritation, and congestion. It’s not recommended for complete nasal blockage. Stay well my friend. Love Abby ❀

      • My theory is that the best you can do is just enjoy life with all the good and the bad. Take it as it is, and relax. Because doctors are also only human, and may never figure out how to help you… Then again, maybe they will. I really hope you get well!

And thank you for your sweet offer of your tech friend. I just need to borrow one of my “tech savy friends” when they’ve got a minute and “pick their brain”…..I don’t mind writing, just don’t like the technology part of this blogging thing….I’ve written posts and had them “disappear into the clouds” or who the hell knows where! Drives me nuts!!! Had a friend over today to help me with my “Smart TV”! Took over an hour just to get the Netflix on it. Technology is advancing at a pace too fast for me…..Oh gosh, there I go chatting away…sorry about that…Have a blessed New Year to you, too, kiddo! Catch up with you later! Got some “smart TV” to watch!!!! πŸ™‚
