I Quit For Family

Sometimes I come to a point where I have to make a decision and this is such a moment.

I have reached a dead end ……

f28

….. and said to myself, “Enough is enough !”

f10

For the past year or so I have been banging my head on a brick wall ……

Oude Kerk, 1480 misericord

…… and getting absolutely nowhere.

f18

Wherever I look …….

f13

….. I just can’t find a resolution. So, I quit !

f16

f20

What am I talking about ?

f15

Finding a flippin woman to live with me !

f20

So with the help of some local and blogging friends, this one blogging friend in particular …..

f4Carolyn

……. who made this lovely comment the other day ……

f5

….. I have decided to stop looking, even thinking about it any more.

f20

It’s been an uphill struggle ….

f12

So it’s time to let it go.

f9

I don’t really think I am mongoose ……

f23

……ummm…. monogonomonous ! A one woman man even !

Because I love you all wherever in the whole wide world you may be !

f22

f20

For me, life is good …….

f21

…… I have everything I need, lovely friends and neighbours, an apartment I am happy with ……

f17

……set in mountain country of southern Spain.

f29

f20

So why go hunting ……

f1

…… clubbing ?

f2

And why should I continue torturing myself …..

f8

…….on the off chance of a woman coming into my life which I may regret ?

f3

I told you Ralph ! You don’t listen !

Shut up Ralph I’m talking !

(please shoot me someone ! )

f20

I class my local friends and neighbours as cherished family.

f20

I also cherish my blogging family.Β

Blogging friends made over the last couple of years. Friends who I laugh with, cry with, vacation with. Friends who visit me and I them. Friends who suffer. Friends with skills. Friends alone.

You are my family and I am going to have fun with you !

f20

Okay ?

f20

If you need me, just call. I’m down by the unicorn farm.

It’s gone 2am here and I really wanted to reply to you before shutting down for the night as I didn’t want you to wait for a response. I really do understand your loneliness as it must be so much more difficult for a woman to be on her own. I really do hope in your case it is temporary and that you will soon find that special friend who will bring back the happiness that you surely are.

A big hug and love from Spain. Ralph xox ❀

  6. I am fairly new to your blog so was unaware you were in this position but might I chime in?
I have a great deal of experience with being alone. I divorced in 1999 and have been alone ever since. By alone I mean not even being asked out on one date by even one man.
Somewhere around 2005 I decided the universe must need me alone for reasons of which I am unaware. Most days it doesn’t bother me a whit but every once in a while I wonder why me? I am smart, funny and incredibly friendly..I love new experiences, meeting new people and make friends very easily. I can’t explain why others have such an easy time attracting the opposite sex and some of us don’t.
My advice? live your life just as you’re doing..enjoy the activities you love most and never worry about doing them alone! Hell, I’m even taking an extended trip of Europe all by myself this March strictly because I have no one to worry about leaving and it’s something I’ve always dreamed of doing.
Sorry this is so long, but I could tell from the first day I read your posts that you are an interesting and very fun person. If women haven’t found that valuable thus far it is totally their loss!

Thank you for telling your story. Not one date ? wow ! I feel the same, maybe I should be alone for now for some reason. Yep ! I agree to just carry on as I am.
Well done in going for it. A European trip should be just what you need. I spent 2 weeks in Jerusalem in July this year on my own, but soon met some lovely people and enjoyed the experience even though the Gaza war was on then. I hope you have a lovely time.
I love your last sentence. Thank you. Ralph xox ❀

  21. Ralph, thanks for your visit to my blog site and liking the About Me post! Come back anytime, especially to the Welcome Page Sunset Gallery for a peaceful visit. It took a long time to get to the Your comments!! A lot of support for you along the way. Just saying, you live in mountain country in So. Spain, so limited opportunity to meet “women?” Probably live a wonderful, tranquil nature-oriented life. Why mess that up! Unless you find someone in the field who won’t change the furniture, hang flowered curtains and take over your kitchen and your life, then just stay happy, with full meaning in your life every day! Anyway, you’re a great blogger and I love your site. You put a lot of creative thought into it. What’s the meaning of the title Bluefish Way?

    Like

      • Ralph, I love the Bluefish blog name post! What a beautiful wind chime. I did copy it to enjoy looking at it. If it ends up in a blog post, your name will be on it. Also if you have a sunset photo, please let me know. I’ll put it in the Sunset Gallery, again with your name on it. Well…take my advice or not. I just know some seemingly great relationships look good at the start and then go south faster than a flock of birds in winter. You have great writing skills with added humor and that needs to be promoted. Have you thought of writing a book?

        Liked by 1 person

      • You are very welcome to take anything I have posted Christine. My philosophy is once published it’s gone out into the wide world and is not mine any more. If I don’t want something taken then I don’t post it. So the blue fish is yours to do what you will.
I live in a valley surrounded by hills and mountains and it’s very rare to see a sunset here. It’s either blue skies or solid cloud. I know I have one rare local sunset photograph……. somewhere !!!
Many bloggers have suggested I write a book. I really have no excuse or reasons why not. Maybe I should have a go.

        Liked by 1 person

  22. Ralph, one thing you have is time! And you have an audience of supportive blogger friends! Something to think about…where would your story start if you were to write it? If you find the sunset, let me know. I can copy it from your site. I’ve borrowed sunsets from world-wide fellow bloggers. They are all in the sunset Gallery. Love showcasing them.

    Liked by 1 person

    • Yes. I do have time and I may have to make room by backing off from blogging. You should have got the sunset photo by now. I’ll have a look at your gallery πŸ˜€

      Liked by 1 person

      • I just looked at my emails and got the sunset photo. I’m on my way with it to the Sunset Gallery. It will be showcased in a about five minutes! Thank you soooo much for spending the time to find it. I did crop it to feature the sunset and not your desk. Hope that’s OK! Yes, you’ll have to back off so much blogging to write the book. I’ll tell you in my email back to you how I managed that.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Thank you my friend. I have seen it and it fits in your gallery very well. πŸ˜€
