Some great ideas for buttonless tops

separator

To update any new reader, or visitor who needs therapy, or is learning how not to blog, I have problems with my hands. I cannot hold a knife & fork properly or do up shirt buttons etc. So I have scoured the internet and think I have the answer instead of normal shirts. It’s either in this slideshow, or you can email ralph.whillier@gmail.com with a picture of something better, which I will add to this post.

  10. I think I like to super hero best. I can see you in that role saving the world from distress. I think you’d get too cold in the metal choices! πŸ™‚

    Like

    • Good morning MVBFM πŸ˜€ Saving the world possibly, but saving damsels in distress definitely πŸ˜€ I agree with you that metal can be cold. Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey……..not what you think !! Read this ……
” In the heyday of sailing ships, all war ships and many freighters
carried iron cannons. Those cannon fired round iron cannon balls. It was
necessary to keep a good supply near the cannon. But how to prevent them
      from rolling about the deck?
The best storage method devised was a square based pyramid with one
ball on top, resting on four resting on nine which rested on sixteen.
Thus, a supply of thirty cannon balls could be stacked in a small area
      right next to the cannon.
There was only one problem — how to prevent the bottom layer from
sliding/rolling from under the others. The solution was a metal plate
called a “Monkey” with sixteen round indentations. But, if this plate
was made of iron, the iron balls would quickly rust to it. The solution
to the rusting problem was to make “Brass Monkeys.”
Few landlubbers realize that brass contracts much more and much
faster than iron when chilled. Consequently, when the temperature dropped
too far, the brass indentations would shrink so much that the iron cannon
balls would come right off the monkey. Thus, it was quite literally,
“Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey!”
(And all this time, you thought that was a dirty expression, didn’t you?)”
      Big hug. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

  14. First of all I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question
in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and
clear your head prior to writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my
mind in getting my thoughts out. I truly do take pleasure
in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin.
    Any recommendations or tips? Cheers!

    • Hi Madrid πŸ˜€

Thank you for liking my blog which has evolved over the months.

Wow. What a question !! I could do a dozen posts on this πŸ˜‰

Everyone is different. Some have notebooks. Others have many drafts in progress. And more rewrite and rewrite.

Many have themes, poetry, photos, reblogs etc. My blog is more of a cross between my personal life and a magazine.

On a personal view I never plan to write a post. In fact I often have no idea and then something triggers a post, a comment, an email, a trip to the coast…..whatever, and I never open a new post until I have the basic idea firmly in my head. And usually a draft develops as it goes along. I try to keep the post raw by changing nothing except typos.

Some comments I can’t answer straight away as sometimes it needs a bit of thought.

All I can say is write what you are comfortable with.

Have a great week. Ralph πŸ˜€
