Hint of the day

How many times have you read a long post and had to scroll back up to open up comments or move on to the next post.

Scroll up no more.

In the centre of the black WP bar you will see a little triangle with a line above it show itself as you work your way down the post. Left click on it and, by magic, you are back at the top of the page.

Did you enjoy the ride by the way ?

    • Hi Andrew 😀 I will be going to Malaga via Ronda in 3 weeks time on the road you took as the locals don’t like to pay the 3 tolls on the coastal Autovia.

By the way we experienced an earthquake this morning centred about 15km away. Shook the house up a bit. Ralph 😀

  1. You didn’t mention the blue sky! But now I know why you are dizzy; it’s those windy roads and the heights. I would need more than a drink after a trip like that. I would need a lie down for a week.

    • Hello Gallivanta 😀 It was quite a hot day as well which is lovely for November. We take that road quite a lot for supermarket shopping or hospital visits. I enjoy the run as there is so much variety to see. A drink and a lie down is normal for me as well 😀 Ralph xox 😀

      • There’s certainly a variety of sights to see. But I am seriously scared of those windy, high roads. So I guess I won’t be taking up residence in your area any time soon 😦

      • I can understand that. One has to have an Indiana Jones or Lara Croft character to live here 😉 xox

  2. That was a long trip (68 pictures long :)). I think I would be glad to get there and stretch out at the end.

Yes, I enjoy the ride and the tip for warp drive to the top of the page. Thank you Ralph.

    • Happy Sunday YC 😀 It took ages to resize and caption the pictures. I had 100 originally but a lot just had to go. Glad you enjoyed the ride and I only just found the warp drive by chance. Ralph xox 😀

    • Yes Shiro, you were fun on my knee my friend, but you must stop wiggling 😉 hehe. Ralph xox 😀

      • Hihihi…….. Ralph that wasn’t me but the bag of potatoes who were wiggling 🙂 ! wish you a beautiful Monday friend ! Xoxo

      • I am totally out of practice in having a woman on my lap on a car journey. I couldn’t tell the difference 😉 Happy Monday evening to you my friend. xox

  3. Great trip pics. Sorry I got a little motion sick in the car. 😉
If you have to ride a ways, at least it is beautiful. 8)

    • Yes. Yuk. All over me 😯 Can’t take you anywhere Katie 😉 Have a drink. What would you like ? A gator-ade ? Ralph xox 😀

  4. It is lovely to see the road again, as I remember driving it too. Lovely on a sunny day! The hilly countryside there is beautiful, hard to drive but so enjoyable views. I loved it!… and thanks for the tip with the scoll up button, very handy!

    • Hi Ute 😀 I was amazed at how calm and easily you drove on the roads around here. I had a look through all the photos and we didn’t take any on that road, but I do have one of you in the car in the cork forest nearby. Ralph xox 😀

      • No we didn’t as I was driving, so I couldn’t take pictures. Another idea, can I send you a USB stick and you can put all the Spain pictures onit and send it back to me???? You also had all mine, and I lost them all now :-(. Would you do that for me?

      • Of course I will !! I have a blank 16Gb USB stick beside me. I’ll copy what I have and anything else which I think you may not have. I’ll do it now and get the stick off to you this week, probably on our boy’s day out on Thursday.

      • Okay. That’s done. I’ll get the stick off to you when I can. xox

    • Hi Julie 😀 Yes it is awesome in its own way. All the roads around me are roller coaster rides. That’s one reason why I love it here. I hope you are having a lovely weekend. Ralph xox 😀

      • Sure thing! Very beautiful sights. Spain is on my wish to visit places. Thanks for giving me a tour even if via the internet for now 😀

      • If you ever come to Spain look me up then you’ll never want to return here again 😉 hahaha xox

    • Why thanks LuAnn 😀 You never know, we may meet on a bus one day 😉 Ralph xox 😀

      • Spain is on the list for us so I may come knocking at your door, so you had better be decent when I do! 🙂

      • Huh !! That’s just asking too much from me 😉 But you would always be welcome. Ralph xox 😀

  5. I didn’t wriggle once while watching your slide show, did you hypnotise us??? If you were a crow, you could get to Ronda in a straight line! Cheers Ralph (and your fan base). 🙂

    • 3……2…….1…..WIDE AWAKE !!

If I was a crow I would be bouncing off the side of the gorges trying to fly in a straight line to Ronda 😉

Wow Yvonne, my fan base ……. 3 speeds and an on/off switch 😉 Ralph xox 😀

  6. Amazing view and trip, really enjoyed it – much more relaxing to drive with you than when I run on my bike – I wasn’t sweating at all… “lol lol” 🙂 🙂

    • Hi Drake 😀 Do you run on your bike very often ? Saddle ….. a sprint along the cross bar ….. around the handle bars and back again. How many laps ? No sweat. You don’t have to answer 😉 Ralph 😀

      • “hahaha” – actually I have 2 mountain bikes one in England and one in France (of course both black) – I use them a lot first for relaxing from work and 2nd for my slim line… “lol lol” 🙂

      • Bikes are good. I’m thinking of getting one. Possibly blue. Luckily my village is flat so I could cope with riding up and down the road outside my house. I need the exercise.
Do you actually ride them up and down mountains ?

      • Actually yes, have cycled much in the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Vosges, the Norwegian mountains etc – I’m not a mountain climber, not at all – but I use my mountain bike on paved roads, gravel roads and small paths – even the steep sections – the hardest most difficult part is actually to cycle downhill… 🙂

      • Wow. I’m impressed !! Most people I know with mountain bikes think a pothole in the road is a ride in the Andes 😆

  7. Looks like quite a long journey. Glad you made it past all the tractors, and didn’t hit the walkers. I love the house with the tower in the garden. I’d like one just like that. A very handy scroll up bar. Does everyone have one?

  8. This was quite a long ride. But – being with you made it enjoyable. 😉
    xx Saludos y Abrazos xx

  9. I’m off to Ronda next week! The weather has been fantastic here, can’t believe how much sun we are getting. Those crazy, winding roads are a joy aren’t they Ralph!! 🙂

    • Fantastic !!. Have a great time in Ronda Lottie 😀 I hope the weather holds out for you. And yes. I love those roads too !! Ralph xox 😀

    • Hi Michelle 😀 The variety of views make these journeys so worthwhile. Big hug. Ralph xox 😀

    • Hello again Georgia 😀 Even though I take this route regularly it’s still an adventure as you say and we do try to have fun on the way. Ralph xox 😀

  10. Love your photos and comments. Thanks for the ride.
I, too, have English blood. My father’s family left England in the 1600s. It was that or get hanged for a teeny bit of piracy. I wonder if we could reclaim our confiscated property? Probably not. I think the Crown still holds a grudge. Ha ha.

    • Hi Mary 😀 Lovely to meet you.

I should go for it. Take back all of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Europe, The World !! Got to think BIG !! 😀

      Ralph xox 😀

    • You are very welcome Wendy 😀 I hope you are having a prosperous week. Ralph xox 😀

      • Awww…thank you for this sweet blessing, my friend!

Take care, be well and happy always~ Cheers!! 😀

  11. Well, rhonda you caught my eye
And I can give you lotsa reasons why
    You gotta help me rhonda
Help me get her out of my heart

    Sing it now! 🙂

  12. Now, that was a long ride! Not many tractors though. If you like tractors, I suggest you visit Poland. Here you’ll have a tractor paradise! 😉

I enjoyed the ride, thank you! 🙂

  13. Wow that is a long ride and I need a car snack or two! I love to have candy and salty nuts to munch on while I travel. We need these while visiting your future road trip!!

  14. Thanks, Ralphie. I loved the trip, except for the bump on the head. That still hurts. And I agree with Robin. Snacks and are a definite necessity on any road trip. Huge ((HUG)) 🙂

    • Hi Elizabeth 😀 So sorry about your bump on the head. Let me kiss it better !! Better ???
Okay, food in the car …..no restaurant lunch then 😉 Ralphie xox 😀

  15. What a great post. It was a little difficult riding on your knee going around all those corners and bumping my head on the roof, but all in all, lots of fun. You did a marvelous job with all the captions – so funny. Sorry for all the wiggling. It was a long ride, and you never stopped. You know how it is. I shouldn’t have had all that water, I guess. I couldn’t even think about snacks after drinking all that water! 🙂 Have a great week, Ralphie! 🙂 xox

    • Hehe !! 😆 What a fun comment from you. Sorry you bumped your head. I must open the sunroof next time …. better not as you might be ejected out of the car 😉 Ralph xox 😀

  16. I enjoyed the drive up to Ronda, what a great idea this slide -show… you must have been concentrating a lot to take all those photos in the car, you don’t suffer with car-sickness?

    • Hello my Croatian friend 😀 I always do what the professionals do, especially with a digital camera. That is to take loads of shots and pick the best. I think I took about 95 photos for a 20+ slideshow. No. I don’t get car sick, lucky me. Have a great Valentine’s day. Ralph xox 😀
