Day 7. Dust, Rubble And Limericks

I am really excited that the work is progressing so fast. It’s Day 7 and most of the major work including cutting channels for the electrics in the rear half of the apartment is almost completed. Still lots to do, tiling, an archway in the kitchen, a window for the second bedroom plus a new front door. The weather has been fantastic, hot and sunny, but with a nice cool breeze. I hope it stays that way.

It’s almost impossible to blog, think or stay sane with the noise and when the builders leave for the day I have to brush through their work area. Much more to do tonight as there is dust everywhere. You ladies would have a heart attack !!

Time for some fun !!

I had a bit of fun in my last post with a couple of limericks and I would like to do some more with you. I would love you to give me your (or a) name and a couple of words which you would like me to put into the personalised limerick for you. I will be kind, probably teasing and a bit raunchy but I won’t be cruel. Please don’t use big words like dyslexia or superannuation. Just simple words as my brain is scrambled with the noise of the building work.

So what have you got for me ???

  1. I wouldn’t have a heart attack at all. I’ve been through it a dozen times already, with hubby being a DIY fanatic. He’s almost demolished and rebuilt two house we lived in, and that whilst we were living in them and he had a full time job, so evenings and weekends were a nightmare. 8OThe end result was well worth it though. Yours is looking good. πŸ™‚
My couple of words would be ‘blonde’ and ‘paradise’. Do your worst. πŸ˜€

    Like

    • Wow, you have been through it. A dozen times? No way Sylvia !!
Let’s see what I can do for you πŸ˜€

There is a blonde lady from paradise,
Whose hair is as long as the crow flies
      The trouble it seems
It comes out of her jeans
With which she polishes the floor with enterprise.

      hehe !! Ralph xox πŸ˜€

      • Well you did say “Do your worst” πŸ˜‰ Now that was a carrot for a donkey which happens to be my day job πŸ˜‰ I’ll write you a nice one if you like my friend πŸ˜€

      • Sylvia, well travelled from paradise,
Whose life is difficult to catagorise.
        She’s been here and there
        Cuddled tiger and bear
Found at the end of her bed with sleepy eyes.

        Better? πŸ˜€

  2. I really like your sinks and doors! It is a fabulous view! Please be careful about inhaling all that dust too.

    Vicki (friend) – cookies – bonfires – beer – sparks – truck – stars

You can pick any or all of the words for the limerick if you decide to make one. I’ll print it out and give it to her if you do! She’ll say, “what the heck is this all about?” That will give me the perfect opening to launch into a story about Ralph, his remodeling project, cats, Spain and blogging.

    • I am careful about the dust Linda as I am isolated from it and only visit the builders when the air is clear.
So you want one for your friend πŸ˜€

I’ve a beer swilling trucker friend Vicki
Who lights bonfires in her cab while eating a cookie.
      The sparks they did fly
      Way up in the sky
That the stars were blanked out and played hookie.

Will that do ?? Ralph xox πŸ˜€

      • Good. I’m glad to know you are isolated from the dust.

The limerick is fabulous! I did a screen print so she can see all of it (a picture’s worth a thousand words, right?). Thank you Ralph!

    • Hi Yvonne. I am going to shut my laptop down as I just have not time to blog. The builders have left which required me to clean up after them. By the time I had sorted the cats out and myself I find that I am so tired. I will do your limerick and the others tomorrow when I am fresh and awake. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

      • Well I’m back, refreshed and raring to go. I may have to tone down my limericks as I think I upset Sylvia. So here goes.

There is an eccentric from Texas
Whose life is enough to perplex us.
        She loves cats and dogs.
        In jeans never jogs.
For Yvonne was a nurse that corrects us.

And the view from your bedroom door is beautiful and so calming…
I only got 4 hour sleep today… I went to bed at 5am and woke up by banging and drilling noises coming from the empty (till now…) restaurant next to our house…agrrr! At least they respected the quiet hours, but I am sure this will be my nightmare month πŸ™‚

You probably know by now that choices are not my forte… so I’ll give you a few words and you could pick the ones you like:

Your thoughts may be a bit raunchy
And your tummy just slightly paunchy
    But you’re always a love
    and sweet as a dove
Sexy, saucy, and oh sooooooo staunchy.

Look it up in the urban dictionary. The perfect word to describe you. Staunchy http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=staunchyβ€Ž
hotties with sex appeal who get your attention. Combination of being sexy, saucy and raunchy.

lol, have a go. I’m not giving you ANY words. You have to come up with your own, and I don’t want any long blond hair coming out of my jeans to do housework like Sylvia’s! πŸ™‚ In fact, I don’t want ANY mention of hair and jeans in the same line! πŸ™‚ That’s just not a pretty picture! πŸ™‚ hehehe Poor Sylvia!!! πŸ™‚ And she’s so cute, too.

who didn’t much like the rain,
His friends know he is crazy,
and by no means very lazy,
I hope I can visit him soon by plane.

This is my attempt. So now your go! As I see I am already in the one with Manny, thanks , love this bear!

  13. Dear Staunchyman,
I was just finishing up a book that I had out on inter-library loan and I read this.
“Self-expression is life. What gives more satisfaction to one’s being than to have expressed oneself.”
    –Stephen Graham

I agree with the quote with all of my being. It was empowering to see it expressed in such a succinct manner. It reminded me, again, to smile and to be glad for your provision that enables me to express and to therefore live. Thank you.

I will always remember your excitement when you emailed me saying that there was a new computer in a box down stairs. I have not heard from you about your medical condition but I know that the small thing I did for you lifted your emotions considerably and still does.

    https://bluefishway.com/2012/09/11/i-hurt/

This time last year I needed help and quickly. The two Spanish families next door rallied to my aid. So here I am, in my own apartment with at least two Spanish families as closer friends.

Receiving is just as important as giving. Many people are too proud to receive even when they are in dire straits. I have met a few who had top jobs snatched away by illness or the economy and I knew they needed help but were either too proud to say or refused the help offered. So I was extremely happy that you did not refuse or struggle to accept.
