Hair Today. Gone Tomorrow !!

Yesterday was a big Samson and Delilah moment for me. I had my hair cut. Not by a professional but by a friend who wishes to remain anonymous. So I won’t mention Hilda. I won’t say that HILDA had made me light headed or even say that HILDA had taken all the strength from me as I will respect HILDA’s wishes and not mention HILDA at all !!

So what do you reckon ??Β  I prefer my hair long, makes me strong !! Or should I go for a skinhead look or maybe a mohican ??

Would you take a chainsaw to my golden locks ??

  1. I think Hilda, who shall be nameless, should take up hairdressing as a profession. And I am not qualified to operate a chainsaw.

    • What a good idea my friend Gallivanta, who shall be named πŸ˜‰ I must tell HILDA, she who must be obeyed, to change her career. That’s good, very good that chainsaws are out of your reach πŸ˜€ Ralph xox

  2. I say, keep them long! πŸ™‚ but hair needs a haircut once in a while & also you’ll be more cool in the hot Spanish days.

It’s good you didn’t mention Hilda though. I’m sure she’ll appreciate it :).

    • I like my hair long my friend. I mean, as I am so tall, my long hair is a good place for storks to nest πŸ˜‰ I am so pleased that you didn’t refer to HILDA Julita. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

oh, ps, the cat was getting uhm un social un happy so I tried the ball of foil, she normally doesn’t do balls at all

she did seem to like it A LOT after ten minutes of me playing with it and some fearful hisses at it

it occupied her for about 45 minutes and she stopped having the zoomies

    • Hi Elisa. You learn a lot on my blog. Most of which is totally useless πŸ˜€ But I am glad your cat loved the foil ball.

I hate my hair being short as it sticks up. I look like a mobile toilet brush !! πŸ˜‰

      Take care. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

  4. The Metamorphosis is no so big: you are a cheerful man before and after! Best wishes to you, Ralph πŸ™‚

    • Of course you like it both ways my dear friend. I expected nothing less πŸ˜‰
So short it is for you Sheri. Ralph xox

  5. Short is better in fact if the hair is cut even shorter all the way around and on top it will look even better. Really. Hair that is tihinng and long or longish makes the hair look even more thin an wispy. πŸ™‚

    • That’s me Yvonne, wispy, with or without hair πŸ˜‰ My father and grandfather were both bald by the age of 20. I always wondered why our milkman ran away to New Zealand πŸ˜‰ Ralph xox

      • What’s an extra “m” between friends. You are welcome to use as many as you like here Yvonne πŸ˜‰

  6. Your dashing good looks could support any hairstyle, Ralph. How abaout a perm next time it gets too long? πŸ˜† Happy weekend to you.

    • Or, perhaps, a blue rinse, Sylvia, with large rimmed spectacles πŸ˜‰
You do make me blush. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

  7. Made me smile your words… Hilda should be so good and nice about hairstyle, you looks handsome… Thank you dear Ralph, have a nice weekend, love, nia

    • Shush !! I am NOT allowed to mention HILDA dear friend Nia πŸ˜€
You are making me blush as well πŸ˜€
And you, may your weekend be wonderful. Ralph xox

    • I am in a permanent state of blush today. Hooray, I am glad that you are with me with long hair my dear friend Rene. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

  8. Ay que guapo Sr. Ralph!
Hilda – who shall not be named – not only took aways some hair – she took away some years too. Please send her my way to work her magic on me too πŸ˜‰

    • Wow RoSy !! Thank you for que guapo’ing me. Please don’t turn me into a diva πŸ˜‰ Her unmentionable magic is on the way. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

    • Thank you Lyn !! I prefer it long myself πŸ˜€ I really must make time to visit your wonderful blogs. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

  9. I like it cut, and since your name is not Samson, but Ralph and it was not Delilah who cut your hair but Hi…oops, Hilda who should not be named, you still have your strength, you just need to believe it! Great for summer as it seems to be there already as you are in a short sleeved shirt. What will you wear in real summer???? I wonder??

    • You know me dear Ute, I believe everything a woman says to me πŸ˜‰ So I must be strong no matter how short my hair is. I must rise above weakness. Weak at the knees no more. I shall now be known as Ralph the Strong. I believe !!

What will I wear in real summer ?? That would get you really excited or give you a laugh. I’m sure I will have to publish a post on it ….. then be banished by WP πŸ˜‰

      Big hug. Ralph xox

  10. Hello Ralph, I think ” HILDA ” had make a very good job and I find you really fixed up, I mean to say……. don’t shave your head bald, just leave it in HILDA her hands :)!

  11. Do you REALLY want me to comment? You KNOW how I feel about baldies. It’s a fetish. Shave that s**t off, yo.

    • There is a time in every man’s life when he must toughen up to take a stand against what he thinks goes against his grain. A time to hold his head up high and proudly say to all the world. “No. This is my hair. This is me. Love me for who I am and what my hair stands for ” I am such a man. Strong. Virile. Masculine !! πŸ˜€

*sheepishly* “Okay, Emily, I’ll shave it off” *cringe* πŸ˜‰ Ralph xox

    • So kind LuA ……….. It IS you LuAnn and not Terry ? πŸ˜‰ Ralph xox (what the heck !!) πŸ˜€

      • Who me ?? I am never disappointed when either of you come to visit. Bring a plate and a bottle next time LuAnn πŸ˜‰

  12. Ah, Ralph, having not-so-long ago cut off (nearly) all my hair, I can understand how the debate with one’s self continues…while short hair is much easier to manage, I’ll have to admit I prefer “windswept” locks to short and sassy. Not that one should give up being sassy, mind you, and neither of us will ever be short… πŸ™‚

    • That’s a picture of you Lyann, with long hair about two-thirds of the way down the “51 blogs I follow” on my sidebar. Very nice !!
I am not sure what “sassy” means ? But I can imagine your grandmother on her rocker on the porch saying to you, “That’s enough of that sassy talk, young lady !!”. πŸ˜‰ Ralph xox

  13. I think the not mentioned Hilda could have dipped the ends in electric blue. Maybe with liberty spikes! Now where’s that chainsaw?

    • Wow !! You are so creative Katie πŸ™‚ Your finished product should make you millions in a modern art gallery. Go girl !! Ralph xox πŸ˜€

  14. Long hair or short, you still look happy in both photos!

      • Ahah. So your hair is shorter but you’re still a big flirt! Haha. I feel HORRIBLE for missing out on all of everyone’s wonderful posts. I’ll try to read more regularly now.

    • Hi dear Ella. No “sir” on my blog, especially from you my blogging friend. I do hope that you have a better week this week. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

  15. Ralph, you couldn’t hide that cheeky face no matter what style hair you wear…! πŸ˜‰

There’s just no getting around it; you are one handsome son of a gun… mmmwwwwaaahhhhh….. xoxoxo πŸ™‚

    • Oh Carolyn, my Carolyn …….. did you forget your reading glasses again ? πŸ˜‰ I bet you say that to all the guys. “mmmwwwwaaahhhhh” Ralph xox πŸ˜€

    • Thanks Michelle …… I think !! The *wink* threw me !! πŸ˜†

Have a lovely week. Ralph xox πŸ˜€

  16. Hmmm Decisions. You really want me to decide which way I like Ralph best? Is that anything like the woman in the red or blue dress? I think you are going to have to post more pictures to make the haircut believable. Photoshop has powerful shears. I gave Vince a virtual haircut in his real estate ad picture, but I wouldn’t dare cut his pretty locks – ever again. I did that when we were first married. Even though I liked MY handiwork better —- BIG MISTAKE Personally I like to play with hair, so keep it. If it’s REALLY gone, then it will grow back. Let it blow!!! Just don’t grow your fingernails until they curl! YUCKY πŸ™‚

    • Hi MVBF Marsha πŸ˜€
Oh. Yes. Playing with hair is fun. I must ask Hil …… ooops ! to photoshop me next time and not cut my hair. My nails are fine, takes me ages to cut, but they are short. With so much on your plate I hope you don’t chew yours πŸ˜‰ Ralph xox πŸ˜€

      • My hair and nails are both thin and fine. My hair is long, and I love it long. My hairdresser even thins it – and it is thin! Don’t ask – she’s magic because I have horrible hair. I want to wear wigs, but they’re too hot! Dolly style! My nails, carefully picked day and night, till they are short and totally ugly. Once in a while I take them in for a treat and get them manicured, but it lasts about 1 day. Gel nails that last 3 weeks on other people last 3 days on me before I pick it off, my nail bed with it. But I don’t chew. Not even tobacco:)

      • What an interesting read MVBFM. πŸ˜€

OMG. I am becoming a fashion blogger πŸ˜‰

  17. Brilliant, My mum sent my dad to the barbers and when he came back he was grey.

It seems the grey hair had been growing underneath and no one had noticed.

    • What a funny story. I hope your father is now receiving the respect he deserves with his new distinguished look !! Take care. Ralph

  18. Wow! What a hair to do! I think that you should select the most bizarre trivia about yourself and publish it. Just to see if you can get more comments! I mean, this, the hair away today piece (no, that is not a suggestion.. Cod piece in the wrong place? πŸ˜‰ Seriously, I mean: you have seen my hair? If so please tell me where and I’ll; no, I’ll let it be. Leave it there. I am the opposite of Samson. He is strong.. No, that is not what I meant πŸ˜‰ IF (it is a difficult to achieve ‘if’) my hair grows I feel loss of strength. Quite seriously. Which takes me back to thank you for liking my ‘vanity’ πŸ˜‰ It seems fitting – like the piece? πŸ˜‰
OK enough inane jabber, HOW are YOU? I have been out of the circle for a while and hopefully will be returning now (though I’m going away for a week tomorrow). I look forward to following your adventures and that wispy trail of locks πŸ˜‰ Do choose carefully when you publish your next piece, 40 comments on your hair… Imagine if you, erm… had a gold tooth? πŸ™‚

    • Hi JJ. I think I’ll have a glass of what you are drinking πŸ˜‰
This post was written three months ago and I need another haircut post or a gold tooth post. Shame I wear dentures !!
I have also been away on and off, hopefully I am back full time now. I wish you well JJ. Ralph πŸ˜€
