Champagne and bacon sandwich party !!

So that I didn’t panic this morning I put my clocks forward one hour yesterday evening. I had to do so because this morning was Max’s 60th birthday party at 11am or 10am if we had it yesterday ……. I’m confused as well !! Clocks set, transport arranged to pick up local party goers to be taken up the mountain to the party venue off we went. Police cars and Civil Protection cars were parked on the roadside half way up with a line of men in day glow jackets in a line working their way up the mountain. We were later told that a 50 year old man was found dead. Puts one in a party mood !!

But party we did. Caught up with the latest news and who was doing what, where and when. Now I’m home quite tipsy with the champagne or was it the bacon sandwich ??

May I wish you, my friends, an eggcellent Easter Day !!

  1. Did you say BACON?!?! Happy Springing eternal Mssr. Ralph! ok now I want bacon, sigh (birthday wishes to your friend please) I am learning to knit and writing a new blog about a lilac. What else is new with you?

    • Hi Elisa πŸ˜€ I shouldn’t really write a post or reply to comments while under the influence of a bacon sandwich. I hope I don’t have to apologise tomorrow πŸ˜‰
Congratulations on becoming a nit … ….. knitter !! And a lilac blog was all the rage during London Fashion week. Nothing new I’m afraid. Happy Easter. Ralph xox

    • What an eggcentric party !! A bacon sandwich beats caviare with champagne any day !! I have just found a bottle of Cava in the kitchen cupboard. I may go in there later and enjoy its company. Take care Katie. Love Ralph xox

  2. I love a good bacon sandwich and when champagne is flowing even better. Nice idea for a birthday party. Have a nice afternoon nap…as I will after a big chocolate egg….. Let’s snooze…..

    • I’ll crack open a bottle of champagne Ute and email some to you. Get your glass ready for here it comes πŸ˜‰ I like the idea of a “let’s snooze” πŸ˜€ Love and hugs. Ralph xox

  3. Happy and Blessed Easter my friend!! Glad your day went well (with the exception of the dead man). Take a nap then enjoy the rest of your day with your Kitty Kats!

    • Thank you so much my friend Len. The cats are no fun as they are asleep as usual. I may join them in a little while πŸ˜€ Happy Easter. Ralph xox

  4. Happy Easter Ralph. May you always have something or someone wonderful to drink your champagne with…

  5. Cheers to you & have a Happy Hoppy & Blessed Easter!
(I bet that bacon was dipped in alcohol too ) πŸ˜‰

    • Spiked bacon !! That’s a new one πŸ˜€ I hope you will have a hoppy week RoSy. Ralph xox

  6. You know, you are not supposed to mix bacon and champagne (or alcoholic beverage) together. The interaction of the mixture are not good for you (as you already found out).

    Happy Easter!

  7. Way to go Ralph… You should have toasted the sandwich though. Better have another glass of the bubbles to make up for it.
We are just waiting for a Morrocan Lamp tangene to finsih cooking!

    Happy Easter.

    • Good idea Bill. More bubbles ! πŸ˜€ I hope your MLT adds that special flavour to your taste πŸ˜‰ Ralph πŸ™‚

      • I had a feeling that the lamp was a bit crunchy. Lamb is so much better with mint sauce πŸ˜€ Thanks for the clip. Enjoy your trip to Morocco πŸ˜€

  8. Bacon and champagne are two of my favourite vices. πŸ™‚ Sorry about that dead man. Hope he wasn’t due at the party. Happy birthday to Max. πŸ™‚

    • Vices, Sylvia ?? You must teach me a few πŸ˜‰ No, he wasn’t much of a party goer πŸ˜‰ Ralph xox

  9. I am not getting notified of your posts! That is strange! I was wondering how you were and decided to come here and make sure you were okay and realized you have been here writing all along! That is crazy. I wonder why I didn’t get them? It says I am following!
Anyway, Happy Easter! Sounds as if you had a great day!

  10. All that sounds like the party was fun, at least I hope so despite learning of a person’s demise. It does make you stop and think and it is depressing unless there is something to take your mind off the happening.

You are so good at coining words . I like the eggcellent. Very cute..

You appear healthier in your picture.

    • Thank you so much for your great comment Yvonne. I only wish I FELT healthier πŸ˜€ Ralph xox

  11. So how many of those bacon sandwiches did you have? You didn’t make a pig of yourself did you?? May I suggest the Easter special Bunny-Egg Salad Sandwiches, instead. They are much less intoxicating. Safe enough even for children. Of course you have to find the eggs first, so that’s a little time consuming, and if you’ve had a little too much bacon ahead of time, you’ll never find the eggs. Another slight problem is that the some sandwiches have been been spotted with chocolate crumbs in them, so be careful about feeding them to your pets as chocolate can kill them – at least dogs. Not so sure about cats. Sorry about your unfortunate past neighbor, and happy birthday to Max. Happy Easter to you, and many bubbly more! πŸ™‚ End of Chapter 1 πŸ™‚ xox

    • Have you ever thought of starting a cooking blog MVBF Marsha ?? Your advice is very sound, especially the Bunny-Egg Salad sandwiches πŸ˜‰ Ralph xox

      • You think too highly of me. You haven’t tasted my Bunny-egg salad yet. πŸ™‚ You might get giddy just from looking at it. πŸ™‚

    • The question of the year!! πŸ˜‰ But we did have a great time even though it was cold πŸ˜€ Ralph xox
