He’s left her in a tizzy
But with buying a great big villa and such
She knows he’s been very busy

  3. While you are thinking about what to say. Here is a little joke for you.

Two women were sitting next to each other in a bar.
After a while, one looks at the other and says, ‘I can’t help but think, from listening to you, that you’re from Ireland …..’

The other woman responds proudly, ‘Yes, I sure am!’

The first one says, ‘So am I! And whereabouts in Ireland are ya from?’

The other woman answers, ‘I’m from Dublin , I am.’

The first one responds, ‘So, am I!! And what street did you live on in Dublin ?’

The other woman says, ‘A lovely little area. It was in the west end. I lived on Warbury Street in the old central part of town.’

The first one says, ‘Faith, and it’s a small world. So did I! So did I! And what school did ya go to?’

The other woman answers, ‘Well now, I went to Holy Heart of Mary, of course..’

The first one gets really excited and says, ‘And so did I!
Tell me, what year did you graduate?’
The other woman answers, ‘Well, now, let’s see. I graduated in 1964.’
The first woman exclaims, ‘The Good Lord must be smiling down upon us! I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same pub tonight! Can you believe it? I graduated from Holy Heart of Mary in 1964 meself!’

About this time, Michael walks into the bar, sits down, and orders a beer.
Brian, the bartender, walks over to Michael shaking his head and mutters, ‘It’s going to be a long night tonight.’

Michael asks, ‘Why do you say that, Brian?’
Brian answers, ‘The Murphy twins are drunk again’.

      • Sometimes being flippant is a good, albeit pathetic, way to cope with adversity. I hope Alastair is okay with that–or should I say that I hope that he understands that some of us find it easier to cope with hard times by hiding our pain behind a veil of humor? I know that’s the case for me. It’s something I learned to use as a coping mechanism from living through a dysfunctional childhood.

    • Dear YC,
A wish is a hope or desire for something. Fictionally, wishes can be used as plot devices. In folklore, opportunities for “making a wish” or for wishes to “come true” or “be granted” are themes that are sometimes used.
Your blog: A Little Bit Of Wiggle Room tells me that you wiggle, in other words, you move with short movements up & down or from side to side. Your wiggling between wishes has caused your problem. Stop it !! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ralph x

I wish for as many kisses and touches as I want, forever, from the person I wish them from.

And, something intimate and meaningful, to me, in a box wrapped in silver paper with a sparkly red ribbon, uhm or purple ribbon or electric blue ribbon..LOTS OF RIBBONS!

oh! and a glass of fresh clean water available to anyone who is thirsty, anything they want it.

Being selfish – I would like to get over this sickness that’s been lingering within me for a week now. I’d love to be healthy again.
My wish for the world is for a better tomorrow (if it happens today – I won’t complain ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
& for world PeAce. Sadly – I doubt I’ll live to see the day.
And – if we’re talking materialistic things – well – I want lots. But – my budget doesn’t allow for more than what I have – which even if I can’t afford to get whatever I want when I want – it’s more than what many others on earth have. My dream splurge would be to get myself a new wardrobe without having to look at prices. Other things on my wish list are – or fun – Pajama Jeans, The Hawaii Chair, tons of warm socks & the best pillow ever – if there is one.
Will be thrilled to hear from you!

South Africa as most other countries are run by selfish people with politics similar to the Mafia. 16. Dear Santa,

This year you seem to be overly generous with your kindness, as I received a prompt letter from you requesting my deepest darkest wishes for the upcoming season. Since the lump or coal and sticks of wood that I have received in previous years are no long available for you to use in case of emergencies, I thought you might be feeling a bit befuddled by my truest desires. Since you were so kind to send me the letter, I will respond in kind.

Santa, I would like world peace. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Food in every region of the world that fills belly’s and gives them that extra bite more as icing on the cake. No more human trafficking, regardless of the depraved ideas they are being sold for. Kindness provided to each one, but also to all things. There is only one Earth and if we continue to treat her poorly, we will not have the ability to make the fore-mentioned gifts come about.

And on a purely selfish level, I would like a Ford F350 and all gas paid for the rest of its life. If you don’t mind, a four door would be even better! A fluffy puppy under the Christmas tree anda light at the end of the tunnel (the batteries you sent earlier are almost dead). ๐Ÿ˜›

    • It was encouraging to read someone else’s materialistic wishes, even if they were tongue-in-cheek…. I’ve procrastinated on even ‘liking’ this post (because it is the sort of post you cannot simply do so without adding a comment – or, in this case, a request)…because I have an awful lot of trouble asking for anything materialistic and I certainly don’t expect you to be able to grant nonmaterial wishes. So, the encouragement has led me to wish for this: the set of things my youngest children (the ones who live with me) have asked for that I cannot provide for Christmas… the camera my second-oldest daughter asked for, the new pair of ice skates my third oldest daughter asked for, the marching band jacket my oldest daughter asked for, and the archery set my son asked for. I am thankful for your post, as it gave me the opportunity to even just think what it might be like to grant their wishes, even if all that happens is you can wish for them to have these things, too.

  17. Dear Santa Ralph,
What an imaginative idea for a post. You never cease to amaze me. So, you are collecting wishes, then offering sound advice in return. Almost like Dear Abby turns into Mrs. Claus. Or Santa turns into Frasier. Hmmm Well, my Jolly friend, I am well fixed for wishes at present, so I’m going to wish for you, and for another friend is also estranged from her daughter. I know how difficult it is when those you love the most won’t communicate with you. You move on in life, but the longing is always there. My friend hasn’t heard from her daughter in over 10 years, and she doesn’t know what happened. She’s tried everything she knows, but nothing works. So, Santa Ralph, for you and Elane, and for others that are estranged from the ones they love, I wish for forgiveness, for a peaceful heart, for an eradication of the conditions that caused the estrangements in the first place, so that they don’t continue, and for clear and genuine communication. That is my wish.

It’s been such a long time since we last talked to each other and, this time, what a wonderful kind comment. Thank you so much. I will treasure what you have just said. There are many more a lot more needy than me but thank you anyway. Hugs Ralph x

  24. Dear Ralph… how sweet! Love this notion. How many sat on your knee? Just asking!!

Ralph/Santa/Mercy/God, I wish for Christmas the strength to empower my own inner realisation of what I must do to reclaim my life, my health. I have the power, but to EMPOWER it, oh just a tad of help with the strength as I feel so awfully tired, about now…

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!
(hope that wasn’t too serious, but you got me in a quiet moment!)

    • Dear Noeleen. I hope that you have been a good girl this year ? I had 31 sit on my knee all at once. I will never get over it. The pain that is !!
I am thinking of what to say and watching the snow fall on my blog. I must get that roof fixed !!
You cannot empower anything alone, no matter how much you try. I believe that we are watched, protected, guided and loved no matter how we see ourselves in the world around us. Ask, that’s all you need to do is ask for guidance, protection and love. It is so easy to say thank you as well for your experiences, thoughts and ideas. I do this every night (when I remember). Another thing I do is, if I have what I think is a bad thought, is to say simply, that is not my thought, I want nothing to do with it, go away, go back to where it came from. It takes time to accept all of this as normality. My. What happened. Am I becoming a guru as well ๐Ÿ˜‰ And a very merry Christmas to you as well Noeleen. Hugs. Ralph x

    • Dear Sheri. I am not going to preach to the converted. For you have THE special blog on the Internet which teaches us that there is so much more than our limited perceptions of Humanity. You know as well as I do that our Path is greater than we could ever realise in our wildest dreams. If your children are meant to walk that Path with you then your wish will surely be granted. Your work is special and I treasure your words. Hugs Ralph x

    “Dear Santa,
I don’t want much for Christmas, I just want the person reading this to be happy ..
Friends are the fruit cake of life- some nutty, some soaked in alcohol, some sweet but mix them together and they’re my friends.
Send this to all your fruit cakes.”
