It’s a blog’s life

Dawn in SpainI have not been a blogger for long, just a few days. And over that time I have visited many blogs via Recent Posts. The emails I received in Outlook were few and interesting. I thought this to be rather funny as I knew I was following many of you and that I should be reading your chit-chat and new posts, but nothing. Late Saturday night I found Edit on Blogs I Like which I hadn’t noticed before. I opened Edit and found 71 blogs, all showing Never. So I spent the next half hour clicking Receive by Email /Instantly. Then I went to bed.

Big mistake !!!

Another beautiful sunny morning. A quiet Sunday. The cool breeze wafted in through open doors. The cats curled up, asleep in their baskets. A little housework done. Showered, dressed with a steaming cup of coffee, I sat down and opened my Outlook. Then all hell broke loose !!

My notifier went mad. chime big ben . My Inbox went crazy. 50….100….150 and finally stopped at 197. I sat there in shock. Mouth wide open, my wide hazel eyes (thanks) just stared at the screen for 5 minutes. The cats were staring at me as if to say,”For goodness sake, shut up, we are TRYING to get some sleep !!”

I follow 51 of you now. It’s not because I dislike your blogs, it is just that YOU TALK TOO MUCH !!

It is now a beautiful, quiet Monday morning in Spain. I will open Outlook now………..ooooohhh !!!

  3. I had to unsubscribe from emails after my first few days of blogging too 🙂 Now I kust check out the Reader and if something looks interesting I’ll go and read it in full… much less aggro! I’ve also learned not to post at night for the same reason .. even if only one person clicks ‘like’, it might as well be an alarm clock! 🙂

  6. dear ralph DONT SUBSCRIBE THE EMAILS FOR LATEST POSTS, boy! they are nightmare. you will get the posts of the blogs you follow in your reader, in the wordpress blog itself, just click the “site stats”, then the reader bar, it will open up and show you the latest posts of blogs you follow; its lot more neat and tidy.

hope i was able to guide you. if you have any problem please dont feel shy to ask.

  9. NOTICE BOARD:
I have just had a visit from my Spanish neighbour in the apartment below. His family is following my two blogs using Google Translate. I did not realise this and had not mentioned to that family of my thanks to my friends who had helped me move, on the other blog of mine, of which his family took a major role. He was almost in tears that I thanked them publically. I have a feeling that half of this village is watching me now, not only the English speaking community but the Spanish as well. I now HAVE to keep on blogging, not only for my own enjoyment but for all of my followers as well. Hope I can keep going 🙂

  13. Good morning Ralph, So funny to read this post from Baby Blogger Ralph after you just told me to click the email box under “Talk to me…”. My email still has over 1,000 unread blastoids, several months after I set my dashboard on never-never-land on anybody. I’m semi-intelligent that way. Then I found Ralphisms disappearing, or never being delivered, so I updated and I checked all the Ralph boxes. Now I’m blasted hither and yon, and I never know where I’ll land in Spain. hahaha, But I just get up, shake myself off, look around for familiar landmark gravitars, and go from there. I left you a couple of LIKES for your REAL birthday. Happy birthday, Ralph. Marsha 🙂

    • It’s now afternoon here and I have just started to answer my comments. I had my haircut today by Delilah and I seem to be losing my blogging strength. Yes, I was a baby blogger, Marsha, and I still haven’t grown up. Here is another reply to add to your Ralphisms (the spell check just exploded with that word ! ) Oh. That’s nice. Presents of Likes from you. I shall treasure them as i do you. Ralph x

      • Awwww Ralph, such compliments, and it’s not even my birthday!!! Thanks goodness- I’d age awfully fast if I had another one in just a month! hahaha!!

You are right, you’ll never grow up. Some men seem to retain their little boy charm forever. I bet you took flowers and apples to your teacher, and she gave you a little hug, and told you how cute you looked with your new haircut. And you blushed and started back to your seat, and thought about ways you could quietly torment and tease the little girls around you so the teacher wouldn’t notice! and would still think you were that adorable boy!! So this is my vision.

“You look adorable this morning, Ralph. Did you just get a new haircut? (Ralph nods, blushing, with his head down, but glancing up at her with pink face, shining eyes, and a shy smile.) She continues without seeming to notice that Ralph is embarrassed, “Before you go back to your seat, Ralph, turn around (She puts both arms around your shoulders and pulls you close to her as she says, “Today’ is Ralph’s birthday – everyone. Let’s all sing Happy birthday to Ralph. Ready begin.” Then she bends down and whispers in your ear, “You be nice to the girls today, Ralph. I’m watching! OK?” (Ralph turns his head around and looks up at her and gives her his magnetic grin, and nods, happily knowing that he’ll never let her see what he has in store for Marianne.) She lets him go, knowing she’d better move his desk today, and put him up by her desk – away from Marianne. 🙂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RAPH!!!

Lots of smiles from Teacher Marsha 🙂

  14. Good evening Teacher Marsha. I have been really bad lately as I wrote a post without writing anything and lots of people came and told me off or told me I was crazy or liked the idea. I am so confused with all the different responses I got. As you are a teacher and are skilled in such matters what do you think I should do to curtail the confusion that I am feeling ? Ralph 🙂 (here’s an apple which some old crone gave me to give to you. It’s nice and red and juicy. She has a mirror that talks to your dog) 🙂

  15. You’re probably asleep by now, birthday over. Thanks, but no, for the apple. I’m careful about presents from somewhat naughty boys. Besides, we all know that your teacher last year had to go to the hospital 10 times after eating food that “someone” brought her and left on her desk. Give me a LITTLE credit, young man. As for your bank post, It WAS blank, Ralph. So… I’m not too sure what the confusion is. Teachers aren’t mind readers, and Ralph, you didn’t write anything. But you can tell Teacher Marsha what’s bothering you if you want. Is the confusion with just this post, or has it been going on for a while?

    Like

    • Quite a while I’m afraid. I mean I had to approve this reply as WP gets confused as well about who is talking to me. But a BLANK post is soooo original, so ingenious, so lazy …. I mean well designed and thought out.
It started when I stayed with friends in California. I think it must have been the hash browns as I wasn’t used to real junk food until I met Ronald McDonald who led me astray. I have been confused ever since then. Maybe I should return and try a Donut Cafe. What do you think I should do Teacher Marsha ?

      Like

      • Ralph, I’m afraid I have some bad news. Junk food has a lasting effect. I’m not sure I can offer you any hope whatsoever. Experts tell us that the only way to find out if the long-term effects of junk food on your brain are fatal or not is by doing an autopsy. We can schedule that if you want, up to 30 years out. Just let me know what you’d like to do, and I’l contact the doctor who works part time at the Donut Cafe to set it up. I’m afraid that a bank post rather than a blank post would be needed to take care of those arrangements. And it can’t be post dated either. Sincerely, Teacher Marsha 😦 So sorry.

      • Marsha. Good news ! I have just seen the doctor at the Bluefish Way clinic and she told me that my confusion problem is caused by not having a woman in my life and when I do so my confusion will disappear and I will then be fine except for a few side effects such as going shopping all day, having my 20 year old favourite sweater disappear and being in trouble all the time. So I will be cured from my confusion problem. Yippee !! 😉

        Like

      • Well that is good news indeed!!! I”m not so sure that your new sweetie pie is going to want to wear your 20 year old sweater, but I do imagine you will be in major trouble ALL the time because you have SO MANY women who love you! This is going to be very hard for your new sweetie to adjust to. But she’s just going to have to deal! BTW. You need to come right back to my blog immediately. There is a contest that involves YOU big time!!!
