I think that’s a great way to let people know. It’s not being rude, tells you straight

  2. Ralph says:

Hi Mondrak. Delitias my laptop says you have a lovely big “eye” on your avatar.
Re: the logo. Yes, I agree and I wanted the logo to be strong, so the metallic look.
I wonder if this will take off ?
I went to a free logo website, followed the build instructions and they would not release the logo unless I paid $30. So I made this logo. 100 times better for free.
    Thanks for your visit. Ralph

  3. great idea – I am so honoured when I receive one, but am of the same mind as you

    • Ralph says:

Hi Lou Ann, welcome back. I really searched Google and found nothing of any significance on this issue. I really want this blog to be my own work. There are many just copying others. I am trashing the video page of mine but am keeping the silly photographs which is not my work but it lifts me to look at them when I feel a little low. As I said before, if it was ONLY an award I would accept it gratefully.
      Take care. Ralph

  4. I am a little slow and cannot figure out how to put this in my sidebar–any suggestions?

    • Ralph says:

Right click on picture. Click on Save Picture as.. (picture now in your computer). Open Dashboard. Go to Media Add New. Upload picture to Media Library. Open show.(here you can adjust the size of the picture) Copy URL of the picture. Go to widgets. Move Images to the right where all your other widgets for your sidebar are. Paste the URL into URL box and save. Have a look at your blog, see how it looks and if it is not in the right place for you go back to dashboard widgets and juggle the widgets up and down till you have the right order you want.

  5. Alice says:

Hmmm–a good idea. I have been struggling with how to say thanks but not alienate others.

    • Ralph says:

Hi Alice I still like your hat.
I know. It was a difficult decision to say “no”. And I think this idea is non offensive.

  6. pennycoho says:

Ralph, I just love your style, a lot! :)

  7. Ralph says:

Hi again Penny. I always look forward to your comments. Thanks :)

  8. You know, Ralph. This kind of looks like an award. Hee hee. :) Saves everyone the trouble so I think it’s a good idea.

  9. Hey, I just noticed the snake lady up there. Ha ha. Thanks, honey! :)

    • Ralph says:

      So have I ;)

      • Oh, really?! Funny. I thought, hey, I’ve seen that chick before.Where have I seen her….

      • Ralph says:

Go into Dashboard/Appearances/widgets. Move the tab Posts I Like to right hand side column. Open Posts I Like/ change 5 to 15. Save/close and have a look at your side bar. A click on any picture will take you to that site. That’s why your chick is in my blog.

  10. Too funny I just saw this…I nominated you this morning for Versatile Blogger award….hehehe

    • Ralph says:

Hehe. But I thank you for thinking of me Jennifer in the offer of an Award but I would prefer a box of chocolates ;) Ralph xox

  11. pelly*made says:

Thank God Ralph! I found another who thinks the same…
But it’s too late now… this morning I got this comment that informed me I was nominated ! :) ? :(
What shall I do? I spent the whole day working on this but I am not happy at all! I do it because I don’t want to look arrogant or snobish.. Another reason I dislike the whole idea is that I am afraid the other 11 bloggers I’ll have to nominate feel the same and I don’t want to put them in that position… I feel like I am spreading a virus! Plus I am preparing for my first exhibition and have so much to do!
Being older in the bloggsphere I could use your advise. Is there a polite way to decline?

    • Ralph says:

Hi Pelly. Good morning. There are many bloggers who love awards, others tolerate and just go along, but there are just as many in the same position as you and me who would be quite happy to receive an award but are not happy with the few hours of work that comes with the award. We are happy blogging when we are doing our own thing and for some blogging time is short and want it to be enjoyable.
It is as you say a virus. To some it is pleasurable. To others it’s an “Oh no” experience.
My suggestion to you (as you have already published an award post) is to edit your post and at the bottom state that this is a one off as I am to busy with other commitments.
Secondly, in your About, reply to Doro and tell her the truth about the morning’s work and that you are honoured but never again. Also edit your About post with a few words saying the same.
Other bloggers who nominate you will not get upset as it’s their blogging experience, awards, not yours.
In the future if you are offered awards, be polite but a firm no thank you.
Have a great day and I hope your exhibition is a roaring success :D Ralph xox

      • pelly*made says:

I feel a bit depressed, as I thought I made it clear that I will not continue the award-chain… :(
I just edited the post saying “no” as clearly as I could. But yesterday after my posting, I sent a message to Doro, with a link to the post, (which I am sure she has read) so now she might think I will do it… what a mess…oufff…
A great day to you and BIG thanks Ralph for your time and comments!

      • Ralph says:

Pelly. I can see that you are very kind and don’t want to hurt other blogger’s feelings. The problem is theirs. They put you in this uncomfortable position. Don’t feel upset and don’t worry about what she may think. If she likes your photographs she will return and press LIKE and comment again. It is no big deal, it is your blog to do with as YOU wish not what others want you to do.
If I was in your shoes. I would delete/trash the award post and get on with what you are really good at. Photography. Ralph x :D
